AUSTRALIA: THE 1999/2000 BUDGET AND OTHER DEVELOPMENTS

The 1999/2000 Budget proposals include changes to the investment/ownership rules pertaining to pooled development funds and efforts to ensure the smooth transition to the broad-based GST regime. In a separate -development, the Ralph Committee is expected to publish its final report containing proposals for reform of business taxation.
