New Guidelines on Functional Currency for Intra-Group Finance Companies

This note provides an overview of new guidelines issued by the Belgian Commission for Accounting Standards that deal with a request for a derogation filed by Belgian treasury and finance companies to keep accounting records and establish and publish annual accounts in a currency other than EUR. The guidelines make it easier to manage foreign exchange risks for Belgian treasury and finance companies operating in a non-EUR economic environment.
