Securitization - the position of SPVs under Australian GST

Securitization in Australia has developed rapidly in the last decade, especially in the area of residential mortgages. Australia's GST is now focusing on sophisticated areas of investment and risk management, such as securitization. Whilst changes recently made to the income tax rules have had a favourable impact on securitization, the same cannot be said about GST. In this article, the author describes the GST aspects of securitization.
