Short report on the proceedings of the 54th IFA congress, Munich 2000

The authors summarise the main issues dealt with during the IFA congress on the international tax aspects of deferred remuneration. Further, they summarise the various characterization issues related to deferred remuneration and discuss timing issues both in the hands of the employee (taxation) and in the hands of the employer (deduction).
